On Monday, the Flyers recalled speedy two-way wing prospect Taylor Leier from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. The club also reassigned Scott Laughton to the Phantoms.

Leier has earned it. Would love to see what he can do with this opportunity.

If Gudas plays tonight...who comes out ?
My choice would be Streit. Give the aging vet a night off . I thought Manning played well last game and the one and only AMac has been fine the last few games.

Hypothetically...if Florida were to win the faceoff by shooting the puck into their own net....who would the goal be credited to?

Have they produced an NHL player yet?

Casey Bailey is the only NHLer so far. He scored 1 goal in 6 games for Toronto last year before getting traded with Phaneuf. He plays for the Baby Sens right now

The opposing centerman who did not win the faceoff I believe

Also, the original question assumes that the face off win was perfectly clean. In which case, it would be the last person to touch it.

But yeah, I think this is the right answer.

I want to say nearest player for the team credited with the goal. But is that nearest to the last person to touch the puck or nearest to the goal?

If not clean that makes it even more likely the opposing centerman, or winger in some cases of course, would get credit.

I believe it was #8 Peter Granberg who laid that cross check on Matt Read, not Forsberg. The announcers got it wrong during the broadcast as well.

I agree , however Forsberg doesn't deserve to be blamed.

yeah...this guy actually got to play. I think there are 6 or 7 guys associated with PSU that were drafted by NHL teams...Bailey was undrafted actually.

So I'm back from Nashville. What an awesome city...

Saw a bunch of the Flyers walking over to the Bridgestone prior to the game on Sunday. Saw Hak and the coaches and had a very brief chat with them. That was pretty cool as well.

The game was amazing. TONS of Flyers fans there. All kinds of back and forth chanting. Flyers win was a great parting gift and left everyone bubbling.

I HIGHLY recommend making the trip, and plan on doing so again next season.

I'm glad to hear this too. Laughton has shown me zero the last year and a bit.

I thought I heard a let's go Flyers chant at the end of the game after the ENG. At first I thought it was the Nashville fans but their team was about to lose so it made no sense. Good to hear Flyers nation was well represented.

I've heard nothing but good things about Nashville. Definitely need to look into a road trip there.

I will say we are probably one of the best fan bases for traveling to opposing arenas.

But our arena also gets invaded.

He asked us if we were having fun. How long we had been there and pointed to the jerseys and said he assumed we were gonna be there today and to have a good time. Also told us he was glad to see us out there.

We just stumbled into them. Stubhub tickets need to be printed down there. We didnt know that. So we spent an hour trying to find a print shop and thats when we stumbled into them.

Sounds like there was plenty of time to tell him to scratch Vandevelde

As others have said...Nashville is awesome. I havent been to a Flyers game there, but I love the city. When I lived in Pittsburgh it was a much easier trip. Not sure how soon ill be back

It was all game long.. Really cool atmosphere.

The first chant of the game was a very loud (almost felt like home) Lets go Flyers chant. Throughout the game we went back and forth. At one point there was a weak preds chant that got drowned out by a "We can't hear you" chant by the Flyers fans.. The Preds fans ROCKED it after that. As soon as it died out another Flyers chant went up.

I was with a group of 8 and we started a PECO PP chant that ended up spreading to the masses on the following PP's.

The fans there LOVE their hockey, which made for some serious fun. Great stuff.
